Galena EMS Seeks Paid Paramedic
The Galena Area Emergency Medical Service District seeks paid, part time Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedics to serve the district. This position requires certification issued by the Illinois Department of Public Health and/or National Registry Paramedic licensure. Candidates are responsible for providing quality pre-hospital medical care at the Paramedic level and should maintain a level of professionalism and physical fitness enabling them to respond to emergency call, write complete reports and maintain equipment. They should effectively assess situations, clearly communicate information to other EMS members and adhere to protocols of the Rockford Mercy Health system. They should be able to work with volunteers and provide insight and leadership.

We are seeking paramedics to work the following shifts:
• Part time to work one or more 12 hour shift per week (shifts start at 0600 hours and 1800 hours)
• Possible fill in on an “as needed” basis for special events etc.

The Galena Area Emergency Medical Service District serves approximately 8,500 residents in a 172 square mile area. We respond to approximately 640 calls a year for service and participate in numerous community events.
